It’s not really the season for pumps, inclement weather and bare feet are not a good mix. However, once you arrive at your Christmas party/function/drinks reception, a change in footwear can be a very good idea. No one wants to dance in wellies and you probably won’t want to carry a pair of heels in your handbag therefore pumps become a practical and very stylish option!

Another stunning trend are exquisite pumps inspired by times long gone. Satin and leather are the materials of choice and beautiful crystal embellishments adorn the toes. Best worn when looking for your prince charming- glass slippers aren’t very sensible in the snow! Lanvin have designed my favourite pair- a fabulous satin design in regal navy blue with Swarovski crystal detailing on the front. Tory Burch also has regency-inspired designs.

For girls who want to keep it simple Alaia has a luxurious collection of leather pumps in a classic style. There are two shades available, a gorgeous toffee brown and deepest black.
