Choosing your dream dress can be difficult as most women like to combine styles and would choose different dream dresses dependent on mood. This was exactly my conundrum when asked to write an article on my dream dress. So instead I’m going to write about my dream dresses!
Bluebell Print Tank Dress
The Christopher Kane “Bluebell Print Tank Dress” is one of my dream dresses at the moment. I adore the flower motif, which lifts this dress from garment to art-work. The care taken to create such an arresting visual statement has been echoed throughout the design houses this season. Matthew Williamson and, in particular, Erdem have also used this technique to show genuine quality and artistic commitment- which is something that speaks to people in times of economic crisis.
What I like so much about this dress is that the deep blue of the flowers takes centre stage with the black fabric and simple silhouette providing the canvas for the design. I’d team this with a blazer and some brogues or flat riding boots during the day and change into a pair of beautiful Christian Louboutin Bianca 140 flannel pumps for the evening.
Vivienne Westwood "Glitter Sweater Dress"
My other dream dress right now is Vivienne Westwood’s Red Label “Glitter Sweater Dress”. The jumper dress is always a must-have for the autumn as it is both feminine and comfortable, elegant and practical. The simplicity of its shape is what appeals most; it is completely flattering, perfect for days where you don’t feel at your slimmest. It is also fabulous for night, due to its colour- the deepest, darkest of blue- and the glitter effect of the material. Wear this dress with your favourite pair of boots. It can be teamed with ankle, knee-high, or even thigh-high boots, a look you can create and truly call your own.
If only I had a fairy godmother!
