Mix-and-Match

Unless you are a descendant of the Princess of Arabia, there will be time when you would have opened your wardrobe and sighed, "I have nothing to wear". Even after emptying the wardrobe and piling it on your bed. All you can find is a collection of different coloured clothes which you have worn like a thousand times over.

You don't have to rush to the nearest boutique to get a new outfit. Actually, you don't have to own hundred of outifts to make statement unless of course you are a celebrity (how i wish!!). The trick lies in matching the clothes.

It is always fun to reinvent your look by mixing and matching your clothes. You can browse through the internet for interesting combinations and try coming up with an outfit that resembles that. Once you get the hang of it, you can already make your own combinations. It's always best to get the balance of 'fashionable' and 'comfortable'.

The secret to dressing well on budget is to have a small group of mix and match clothes in your wardrobe which coordinate well in colour, fabric, and shape with all the pieces interchangeable. It becomes a perfect capsule of clothing, created by you for yourself.

Dig out the accessories. A great way to breathe new life into a wardrobe is through accessories. Try belts in a variety materials, patterns and belt everything from cardigan sweaters, dresses and or a basic button-down shirt. The possibilities are endless.

MoonWalk

I decided that I needed to step up and make charity advocation this year through joining the "Moonwalk" and help raising money and awareness of breast cancer. Sometimes we take what we have for granted and if I wasn't as fortunate as I am, I wouldn't have the ability to lead the life I do. My dream has always been to help others and contribute to the underpriviledged turning their dreams into a reality.

My good friends and I dedicated the amount of time required to train for this event. Many blisters, painstaking walk up the hills, long distance run & walk, arduous session at the gym almost everyday - it brings out the feel-good factor inside me plus feeling the joy of every penny raised will be well and truly earned.

Teams of women and men all over the world will be joining us -the MOONWALK, we called it the Scottish "Mardi Gras". Not only we will be painting Edinburgh, the beautiful city with our decorated bras, we are going to endeavour the challenge to complete 42km walk from night till morning.

I know it's going to be difficult physically but I will keep this mantra with me tomorrow all the time, "Pain is only temporary, failure is forever!". It will be definitely a night to remember.

Shoes on a shoestring

Is there a such thing as too many shoes? Most women have a large collection of shoes and most men don't understand why. (I do have this problem!) They complain that they only have 2 or 3 pairs and you've got a different pair for everyday for half a year.

Why is this? What's the allure? There's just something about a new pair of shoes that makes me feel good about myself. They have this effect even when I'm wearing a humdrum outfit. With a great pair of shoes I even feel skinner (believe it or not!).

I always believe shoes generally display your personality. We can be the 'knock around the house' bedroom show woman, the 'working in the flower garden' sneaker woman, the 'I don't care what I look like today and run to the grocery store 'flip flop woman'. Does that mean we should have like 9 pairs of shoes for our nine different personalities? Ummmm...No. There are millions of different varieties of shoes or 'personalities' and we don't wear the same outfit everyday.

We deserve to have beautiful shoes. We all DO. Besides, giving up shoe shopping would be like giving up a part of our womanhood. We are good at it. It's a God-given talent. It would be like Picasso not painting or Beethoven not composing.
